not so fast. a legal matter and unconstitutional appointments. abc 7 news at 6 starts right now. captioned by the national captioning institute --www.ncicap.org-- >> good evening. tonight round two just a day after a dusting of snow another system has moved in. this new wave has made for tricky evening commute. >> we have been tracking it all day and our chief meteorologist is in the weather center with the latest. >> that second system in two not so days is moving out quickly pretty much out of the metro area heading east. it is cold, 20 degrees right now outside. just to the east and rapidly moving farther east is the back edge of this area of snow associated with the alberta clipper. we have advisories in effect through 9:00 not for snow that is falling but the slight snow on the ground and very cold temperatures very cold

temperatures and slick spots. four inches in frostburg, three in cumberland. hagerstown an inch and a half. stephens city 1.1. and purcellville 0.9 and .2 officially at reagan national airport. the temperatures are key. teens, low 20's. it will get colder tonight. we expect overnight 14 to 20 degree temperatures. the story will be icy spots. something we will have to watch. a little bit of a warm-up over the weekend but not finished with the possibly adverse weather. monday morning could bring more. i will explain in a couple of1.1. and minutes. >> not much snow around washington but making for a slow chute. we will now look at the roads. we will see how the traffic is moving in potomac. >> right off 270 traffic moving along including a fire truck going southbound right now. but earlier today some real problems because of the timing of this storm hitting at the

beginning of the rush hour. it crawled along. i don't know if you can see but there were signs up warning people about icy roads and that was the big issue according to the transportation people here in maryland because the pavement temperature is right about freezing. major issue when you have a lot of traffic in commuter hours but once it eases up that road temperature will go down and that will be an issue later on tonight. that is why a lot of the transportation officials are warning people to be careful. back live we can show you an example of what people will be dealing with. we are in a parking lot off 270. we have just some water standing standing, a little bit of ice, not a major deal right now. all of this stuff will freeze later on tonight and that will be the real problem. that is why the authorities are urging everybody to be careful. back to you.

a bind. >> it was said today unless congress acts soon some 800,000 civilian pentagon employees could be furloughed. the news is grim. margaret mckeepy's daughter is a civilian worker with the army. >> they said a lot of people are upset because they are going to be furloughed. they are good workers. >> a top pentagon official says some 800,000 civilian workers could be furloughed one day a week by april. that is a 20% pay cut unless congress acts to ward off nearly $50 billion in cuts the news is expected to kick in march 1. >> it is ridiculous. >> don johnson a retired civilian worker with the defense department says with all the money spent in iraq and afghanistan don't pick on the sven force. >> we are always an easy target. i think there are other options. if congress would just get their

act together. >> already the pentagon is short-sighted. get their act together. >> already the pentagon is laying off most of its 46,000 temporary workers and cutting back on maintenance of ships and aircraft just in case. but others say cutting the people and the services they provide >> they may cut information technology funds which drives operational efficiency so we're cutting the thing that could save money. >> even though no military positions are affected only civilians, carter warned the deferred maintenance and other cutbacks will eventually hut the combat readiness of units deployed to afghanistan. >> they came by thousands to mark the 40th anniversary of roe v wade. anti-abortion groups made the trek to protest the ruling that legalized abortion. this is one of the most controversial rulings and they say they won't rest until the law is overturned. >> we needs to abolish this law and make sure everybody has that

the initial attempt to ban assault weapons resulted in a boycott. despite resistance the white house is pushing forward. this wednesday an emotional battle is slated with the head of the n.r.a. expected to testify before the u.s. senate senate judiciary committee with the husband of a former congress william. >> chris van hallen is lending his support for gun control. in a march at the washington monument tomorrow at noon he is joining eleanor holmes monitor the d.c. mayor and religious leaders followed by calls for congress to take action. which company ousted apple as the world's most valuable? >> this is a live look outside where we are tracking a little bit of snow as it rolls through the area.

>> there's a lot of loose change in america and some could be yours. the national association of unclaimed property administrators says there is about $58 billion in unclaimed property and money. they come from bank accounts, stockholders and other forms of options. there is an online data base you can check. it could be worth your time. somebody in con landed about $33 million from an old stock sale. >> speaking of money, if it sis stock it is worth a lot. netflix is continuing to soar. its stock jumped 42% yesterday. today it jumped again more than 15%. it is now selling for $169 a share.

that is still off of the high of $305 in 2011. and move over apple because exxonmobil edged them out as the most valuable company in america today. both have a market cap around $415 billion but exxon took the lead in overall stock value. apple's stock has fallen more than 12% since yesterday after the company released a less than impressive forecast for the iphone 5. >> i think we should go public with doug hill. >> we could make a lot of money. >> will you help with the initial offering? >> let's share all the news. one thing to keep in mind though we got a very little bit of snow icy spots will be a problem. we will look at things. we will go to gaithersburg national staout finstitute of standards where we have an h.d. camera. a lot of high clouds early in

monday. but the problem is in transition as the warm air moves in we have one window early monday morning. this is the satellite and radar showing the bigger picture of the clip areaedperclipper. it clears out. mountains get more snow tonight and tomorrow. we will have sunshine tomorrow but we will look to the south and west. by the time we get to sunday night as the leading front of that warm air advances monday we could have sleet or freezing rain and we will pop into warmer temperatures monday afternoon. tomorrow partly cloudy, a little breezy, cold, highs 28 to 32. as we get into sunday looks like we could hit 35. monday a 30% chance right now, keep in touch with the forecast
